- identify the speaker and apply comprehension skills.
* Winter was coming and all the birds were flying to a warmer place.
*A little bird had broken his wing and could not keep up with others. So it was left alone in a world frost and snow.
* The little bird decided to seek help from the trees of the forest.
*It first approached the birch tree but the tree refused saying that it has her own birds to help.
* Now he went to the oak tree but the oak tree also refused saying that he would eat up all its acorns
* The little bird now approached the willow tree but the tree did not allow him to stay on its branches
and said that it does not talk to strangers.
* The bird being so upset, went to the spruce tree. The spruce tree was very kind and allowed the bird to stay on its branches.
* Pine tree also said that its branches were not very thick, but it was big and strong,so it could protect him from the north wind.
* The juniper tree also said that the bird can eat its delicious berries all winter long.
* Now the north wind came and touched the spruce, pine and juniper trees who were kind to the little bird.
* In the end, the birch, oak and willow trees found their shining, green leaves lying on the ground whereas the spruce, pine and juniper trees were left green due to their kindness.
Now that we have a deeper understanding of some of the important facts of the story, we'll be able to appreciate the story better and answer the questions.
