GRAMMAR LESSON NOUNS  (PART 5) 


All set for the class today!

Good morning ,boys!!
Yesterday, it was good to see the prompt answers from some of you.

Today, we will continue with the topic with some more exercises.

So far you have learnt that you will be able to:
recognize the different kinds of nouns
construct sentences using nouns

Let's revise
An abstract noun is the name of some state,quality,feeling or an idea.
We can only feel or think but cannot touch or see.
It is usually used in the singular.


Now let's get ready for the exercises to be checked given for classwork and homework.

First, we will start with Ex. -E.

So, now, we are through with the exercises from the grammar text book.

The exercises which we will be doing now is a revision of the types of nouns done till now. 

Get ready with your notebook and copy the exercise.

Q.1. Underline the common nouns in these sentences:
    a) Some of the cars were in the garages.
    b) Have the pictures on the wall been cleaned?

Q.2. Circle the proper nouns in this paragraph:
         Jim and Jae travelled to Atherton last Thursday. They bought a new Ford sedan 
         and drove back to Lake Barrine. Here, they showed the new vehicle to Leeanne and John.
         The two, then returned home along Eachem Road.

Q.3. Underline the collective nouns in these sentences:
    a) A flight of birds flew over the herd of buffalo.
    b) Several groups of players boarded the fleet of small boats.

Q.4. Circle the abstract nouns in this paragraph:
        The family was filled with grief at the death of their elderly relative.Grief turned to anger
         when they realised it was a careless accident.They showed great kindness and love to 
         each other at this sad time.
