This is a short story written by 'Florence Holbrook' who was a teacher in Chicago schools. She rewrote folk tales that she collected from different cultures. All of its friends had flown away to warm lands. The bird requested the birch, oak and willow tree to allow it to rest and take shelter. However, all the trees refused.
